Having suffered the tragic loss of my father to suicide at the young age of 18 my journey took me onto helping people that wished to help themselves and in 2007 I joined HM Prison service .

I gained valuable experience working on the residential units promoting the positive attitude and life changes required to achieve a successful rehabilitation .

In 2013 whilst at HMP Leeds and facing my own personal struggles  I was approached by an offender asking if I could arrange something to allow offenders the opportunity to raise funds for a terminally ill officer, I organised and marketed a donation event and within less than 24 hours a surprising amount had been raised. Through this event I witnessed an atmosphere that was unknown and this led me on a quest where A Little Something Back was born. A Fundraising initiative that would allow offenders  the opportunity to raise funds for those less fortunate. With over 88,000 prisoners in the UK today imagine if every prisoner gave "A Little Something Back " what difference that could make !

Upon leaving the service in 2020 A Little Something Back had raised over £13,000 for 15 local beneficiaries.

You’re such an inspiration.  Fighting hard to get this off the ground and it’s such a success because of your determination and belief.  For what it’s worth, I’m super proud of you and to have worked with someone who has made such a difference”
